About Me

I entered the world of accountancy 30 years ago when desktop computers became financially accessible to medium sized businesses. At the company I worked for my IT skills meant I was given the task of implementing and integrating the first  computerised double entry accounting system the company had investing in. Double entry accounting is akin to the logic of computer programming, a skill I had already mastered, and so accounting and I fell in love.

A few years on and I was working for an IT company training chartered and certified accountants how to manage the finances of their companies using computer software. Five years later I was the accountant of a 10 million pound turnover company with two branches and 35 employees and embarking on a career as a General Operations Manager.

I have spent the majority of my working life in the Motor Trade leading with my financial skills but taking responsibility for actual operational units and in doing so have a wealth of experience in all aspects of the business process. It was this direction that led me to study for a Master’s Degree in Business Administration rather than Certified or Chartered Accounting and culminated in the General Management of Crayford Motors Ltd a 16 million pound, 50 employee business for 6 years prior to moving county and changing career.

Working as a self employed accountant prior to establishing Dartnell Lynn Ltd I understand the challenges of being a sole trader which puts me in the unique position of understanding you and running your own business. Add that to the skills and experience I have as an accountant and General Manager working for large successful limited companies, I think I am in an excellent position to help you and your business grow.
